I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. Aren’t people who go to therapy weak?

Not at all. Actually the opposite. It takes courage to ask for help. “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” Brene Brown

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

I am a trained professional that is unbiased and offers a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space for you to talk openly. I can help you make connections with your current symptoms and past experiences, help you to gain different perspectives and insights and teach you new skills. Working through complex trauma issues or even life adjustments, talking with a professional can be more healing, beneficial and effective than just taking advice or opinions from friends and family.

What do I have to do in sessions?

This is your time and your space to talk and to talk openly and freely without fear of judgment. The therapuetic process does require your participation. Showing up to your sessions and being committed and consistent with your therapy will most likely get you the change you desire.

How long will it take?

The counseling process is a journey. The journey looks different for each individual. I have worked with people with life adjustments on a short-term basis and other people with extensive trauma history for many years.
